Glossary: Journey Types and Attribution Terms

Use this glossary to understand the journey and attribution terms used across Knotch One:

🔄 Journey Types

  • Conversion Journey
    A single path leading to one conversion. Used in Journeys view.
    Journeys with multiple conversions are split into separate conversion journeys.

  • User Journey
    A full flow of user behavior across a session, which may include multiple conversions. Used in Dashboards.


🔍 Conversion Types

  • Single-Touch Conversion

    • Journeys Definition: User viewed one page one time before converting.

    • Dashboards Definition: User only saw one page (even if multiple views), with no other pages involved.

  • Multi-Touch Conversion

    • Journeys: Journey includes more than one page view (even of the same page).

    • Dashboards: Journey includes more than one unique page before conversion.


🎯 Attribution Touchpoints

  • First Touch
    The first page a user visits in a journey or conversion path.

  • Mid Touch
    Any page between the first and last touch (excluding the converting page).

  • Last Touch
    The final page visited before the conversion occurs.

  • Converting Touch (Journeys only)
    The page where the conversion takes place. Not shown in the Page Influence table but counted.

  • On-Page Conversion (Dashboards only)
    The page where the conversion occurs, counted as the final step in the user journey.
