The Tag Automation Service runs:
Every 24 hours at 12am UTC
Immediately after you create or edit auto tag rules
Changes take effect in the next run or instantly after edits.
If Cards are enabled for an account and deployed to tags with Auto Tagging enabled, any new pages added to those tags through the Auto Tagging process automatically receive the card deployment in real time as part of the Automation Service run.
