You can use the Referral Source trigger to show a Card only to visitors who arrived from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, or Claude, This is useful for understanding what AI-referred visitors are looking for and whether your content answers it.
Open your Card in Card Builder and go to Deploy → Triggers.
Toggle Referral Source on.
On the Group tab, select AI Search to cover the channel broadly.
To target one specific tool instead, use the URL tab and enter that tool’s referrer URL, for example https://chatgpt.com
Save and publish.
When someone clicks a link inside the ChatGPT or Claude app , the app hands the link to the browser without any source information attached. The visit arrives with no referrer, so there is nothing to match on and the Card will not display. We can not attribute a visit that arrives with no referrer.
Visits that do carry the referrer are those where the person used the AI tool in a web browser, for example chatgpt.com open in Chrome or Safari, and clicked the link from there.
Open the AI tool in a web browser, not the desktop or mobile app. Chrome or Safari on either desktop or phone is fine.
Ask a question that surfaces the page you are targeting, or paste the link into the conversation.
Click the link from inside that browser session so the visit carries the AI tool as its referrer.
Meet whatever timing trigger the Card also uses, such as scrolling to the configured Scroll Depth.
