When deploying a Card in Knotch One, you can choose when it appears using Trigger options. These define the moment a card is shown, and who is eligible to see it.
There are three trigger options. Scroll Depth and Exit Intent control when a Card appears during a visit. Referral Source controls who sees it.
📏 Scroll Depth
Choose how far a user scrolls before the card appears. Options include:
0% (on page load)
25%
50%
75%
90%
🖱 Exit Intent (Desktop only)
Detects when a desktop user moves their cursor toward the browser toolbar (suggesting they might exit the page). Exit Intent is based on mouse movement tracking, so it cannot be supported on mobile.
You can choose:
Show Card on Exit Intent and Existing Triggers
→ Card will show if either the scroll depth is reached or exit intent is detected.Show Card on Exit Intent only
→ Card will show only if exit intent is detected.
🧭 Referral Source (Web Page Cards only)
Limits the Card to visitors who arrived from a specific channel, domain, referring page, or tracking code, such as a paid campaign, organic search, an AI assistant, or a partner site.
When enabled, you select criteria suchas Group, Domain, URL, and Tracking Code tabs. At least one referrer value must be selected. The trigger is off by default on all new and existing Cards, and is not available for Email Cards.
