# Why are conversion totals different in Journeys vs. Leaderboards?

Understand why you may see different conversion counts in different areas of the platform.

You may notice that **conversion totals in Journeys are slightly lower** than those shown in the Leaderboards or Dashboards. This is expected and due to **system optimization limits** applied specifically in the Journeys view.

Here’s why:

- **Journeys applies threshold caps** to support performance and usability:

    - It excludes conversions that involve **more than 500 steps**

    - It excludes conversions that occur **after a user’s 50th recorded conversion**

- **Leaderboards and Dashboards do not apply these caps**, so they show the full conversion count.

As a result, total conversions in Journeys can be slightly lower than those shown elsewhere in the platform. This ensures that Journeys load efficiently while still representing the most relevant user paths.
