# How does the “Contains” and “Does not contain” rule work?

Learn how URL rules control what gets tagged automatically.

-   **Contains:** Tags any page with a URL that includes the specified text
    
-   **Does not contain:** Tags only pages that don’t include that text
    

📌 Example: A rule that says **Contains "/blog"** will tag any page with "/blog" in its URL.
