# What is auto tagging?

Learn how auto tagging works for content pages in Knotch One.

**Auto Tagging** allows you to automatically apply **child tags** to content based on custom logic—such as URL structure or page-level attributes.

This helps you:

-   Maintain consistent tagging without manual updates
    
-   Apply tags as new content is published
    
-   Streamline content grouping by campaign, product, format, etc.
    

📌 _Note:_ Auto tagging applies only to **child tags**, not parent tags.
