# Should I update an existing Card or create a new one when making question changes?

Understand when to update an existing Card vs. when to create a new one.

Technically, you can either update an existing Card or create a new one.

-   If the change is **minor** (e.g., adjusting wording), you can safely edit the existing Card
    
-   If the change will **meaningfully affect how users interpret or respond** to the survey, we recommend **creating a new Card**
    

💡 _Tip:_ Use the “Duplicate” function to copy an existing Card and quickly build a new version with edits. This helps maintain data clarity over time.
