# How do threshold directions work for different metrics?

Each metric has its own threshold logic

Each metric has its own threshold logic. For Page Views, the ceiling sets a maximum ("only show pages with fewer than X views") and the floor sets a minimum ("only show pages with more than X views"). For metrics like Exit Rate where lower is better, the logic is inverted: the ceiling sets a minimum exit rate and the floor sets a maximum.
