# How does metric de-duplication work?

This article describes how Knotch One filters out rapid, duplicate clicks and views so your dashboards only reflect real user interactions.

We apply a simple “true-duplicate” filter on clicks and views that happen too close together, so that only the first hit in each burst is counted:

- **First event kept:** We always retain the very first click or view.

- **1-second window:** Any additional clicks or views on the same page that occur within 1 second of the previous one are ignored.

This logic is similar to the out-of-the-box behavior of other major analytics platforms’ default handling of rapid duplicates.
